Luka is an associate focusing on commercial real estate and corporate law projects. He is passionate about helping clients achieve their goals in an efficient and practical manner.

Prior to joining the firm, Luka served as in-house counsel at several publicly-traded, international organizations. The bulk of his in-house career was spent in the medical device industry developing corporate compliance and privacy programs. Most notably, as Compliance Counsel at Avanos Medical, Inc., he played an integral role in developing the company’s healthcare compliance program from the ground up, eventually serving as the interim leader of the compliance function during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic. Luka has earned certifications in International Corporate Compliance & Ethics (CCEP-I) and Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC). During his time as in-house counsel, Luka also negotiated on behalf of his employers a variety of multimillion-dollar commercial transactions including distribution and supply agreements, franchise agreements, licensing agreements, and commercial leases, among others.

Luka earned his J.D. from Emory University School of Law in 2015 where he also earned the Transactional Law and Skills Certificate, and his B.A., magna cum laude, from Winthrop University in 2012. He is admitted to practice in Georgia.

Outside of practicing law, Luka enjoys traveling and hiking with his golden retriever. As a former NCAA Division 1 tennis player, he also maintains his passion for sports and competition by participating in basketball and tennis leagues across the metro Atlanta area. Originally born in the former Yugoslavia, Luka is fluent in Serbian, Croatian, and Bosnian.
